St Paul's Cathedral
Organised by Lou
Join us for a visit to St Paul’s Cathedral, including a guided tour and dome climb to the Whispering, Stone & Golden galleries.
Tour theme: Cathedral at War (supports GCSE History), aimed at secondary school age children, however younger siblings (over 5yrs, but ideally over 7yrs) are welcome.
“See where two bombs fell in the Cathedral.
Look at the Churchill Gates and discover what they tell us about the life and leadership of Winston Churchill.
Think about and discuss the effects of the Blitz on Londoners, for example evacuation and rationing.
Examine historical sources from the Blitz to evaluate their representation of the past.
Encounter bravery, sacrifice and survival through stories of the St Paul’s Watch.”
Due to the Dome climb, please note that unfortunately, this is NOT open to babies, toddlers and children under 5 years old.
Please also note that the steps to the upper dome are steep and narrow and for safety reasons it is a ONE WAY TRIP (once you start, you cannot turn back) Therefore, ideally, children should be 7yrs and older.
£6.60 per child if you pay by personal PayPal payment to events[at]educationista [dot] com (or £7.04 if you pay via the website)
£15.00 per adult if you pay by personal PayPal payment to events[at]educationista [dot] com (or £15.73 if you pay via the website)
(If paying by personal PayPal payment, OPT TO PAY OFFLINE, below, and please put your names and what you are paying for on your personal PayPal payment)
(Please note that the eventual price of the adult tickets is likely to be far lower, due to the free adult places and their scaled pricing tariff. However, until numbers are known, it is impossible to predict before the event. The savings will be shared pro-rata to the number of paying children who attend on the day, and will apply to the first adult per family. You will be refunded via PayPal after the event. Those who know me or been on anything I’ve previously organised, will know that I always refund free-adult savings).
There will be no refunds for non-attendance or cancellation. St Paul’s Cathedral require payment in advance.
Please wear sensible shoes.
We will probably eat lunch at St Paul’s (space permitting). For those going on to the Bank of England visit in the afternoon, it is a ten minute walk or a short Tube ride between the two.
St Paul’s will have building works going on at the time of our visit. Therefore, overall numbers for this visit are quite limited.
This event is fully booked.
