NOW FULL!
Come to Silverstone for a tour of the circuit, followed by a hands-on workshop on forces and motion with a motorsport theme.
Silverstone Circuit is the home of British motor racing. We’ll have a 2 hour guided “behind the scenes” tour of the circuit. We will be using a coach to tour because of the size and nature of the site. However, we will get off the coach at certain points to get a closer look at the legendary sites around the circuit including standing on the podium. We’ll also learn about the evolution of the venue from the home of an order of Benedictine Monks to a farm, a WWII airfield and a modern day race circuit.
We’ll have a break for lunch and then we will have a hands-on workshop in the afternoon where the students can experiment with theories of forces and motion with a motorsport theme.
Places are strictly limited and will first be offered to those who took part in the poll.
Thereafter places will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
The price is £20.75 (per person – child, adult, human being!) (This price may reduce slightly – in which case, you will receive a refund)
(You may pay via personal PayPal transfer to events [at] educationista.com replace the [at] with @ and close up the spaces)
(This is wheelchair accessible – apart from getting on/off the coach and the podium)
(NB – you still have to make your own way to/from Silverstone)
This is aimed at KS3 (11yr+) mature younger children may also attend. However, to register your interest for a possible KS2 workshop, please do so at: www.educationista.com/article/silverstone-poll
Bookings
This event is fully booked.
Hi Lou
I thought there was a KS2 day/workshop. Can you advise how I book for that? I am new to your website and a little confused.
Many thanks
Bev
Hi Lou, Is there a possibility this event will be organised again?
Hi Clare,
It’s unlikely because of the cost and need for coach hire (and slight financial risk in organising it and having to guess/hope that I’ll fill it, with the cost being what it is)
However, I’m happy to pass on the details if you wished to organise it for yourself at some point in the future.
Otherwise, you may book onto the KS2 one (older ones are welcome) which is a couple of weeks later: http://www.educationista.com/events/silverstone-workshop-tour-ks2-feb-2015/

🙂
Is there much difference in the KS 2 day. My son is 13.
No difference in content. I think they would pitch the workshop slightly easier, may be. Having said that, they were willing to do mixed age/level, which makes me think (hope?) that they will be able to handle different levels/questions etc…
