Come and visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace, where he was born, grew up and where he also spent the first 5 years of his married life, in Stratford upon Avon and afterwards (optionally) visit Hall Croft, the home of Susanna Shakespeare and her husband, Dr John Hall.
Also there are two workshops to chose from:
KS2 Workshop – All About Shakespeare
“Your visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace begins with a fun, illustrated talk that will help you gain the most from their visit to the house where the world’s most famous playwright lived when he was a boy. The fee includes entrance to Shakespeare’s Birthplace and an interactive introductory session”
KS3 Workshop – Brush Up Your Shakespeare
• Discover facts about Shakespeare’s life and times
• Explore Shakespeare’s schooldays
• Discuss the nature of play-going in Shakespeare’s London
• Learn about plays in the First Folio
• See images of Shakespeare’s plays in performance
• Consider Shakespeare’s place in the world’s cultural heritage
Hall Croft (CV37 6BG, 5 mins walk from Shakespeare’s Birthplace)
Optionally, after the Birth Place house, those who wish to will proceed to Hall Croft. (We will all need to arrive and enter together, but thereafter, we are free to disperse.)
Costs
Birthplace only (tickets marked (A)):
£6.95 per child going into a workshop
Children under 5 are free (and NOT in the workshops)
Adults are free
Carers are free
Shakespeare Birthplace Trust are very generously waiving their entrance fee for all adults and non-participating children (that is, those children not doing a workshop) going into the Shakespeare’s Birthplace.
Birthplace PLUS Hall Croft (tickets marked (B)):
£9.20 per child going into a workshop and Birthplace PLUS Hall Croft (INSTEAD of £6.95, above)
£3.60 per child over 5 NOT doing a workshop but going to the Birthplace PLUS Hall Croft (This will probably NOT to apply to most families)
Carers are free
£5.30 charge for adults who wish to go on to Hall Croft afterwards.
(There is likely to be a free adult space – dependent on the number of children – if this is the case, this will be shared pro-rata to the number of “workshop” children going to Hall Croft and will be refunded after the event)
Booking
Please choose carefully from the “option(s)” below when booking your places.
If you are just going to the Workshops/Birthplace, you’ll need to choose from the “tickets” marked (A)
If you are going to both the Workshops/Birthplace AND Hall Croft, you’ll need to choose from the “tickets” marked (B)
**All your “tickets” should generally be (A) or (B)** (unless you have a Blue Peter Badge or similar (as below))
If you are using Blue Peter badges or Art Passes or any other free entry, but wish to do a workshop, you will still need to book & pay for the workshop, but you do not need to book for Hall Croft (even though you may choose to go there with the group). However, the parents/adults of children with Blue Peter badges etc… would not be part of the group booking for Hall Croft and may have to buy their own (full price) entrance tickets (depending on the terms and conditions of the Blue Peter badge, Arts Pass etc…).
The number of options for this is somewhat confusing, so please contact Lou if you have any queries. (lou [at] educationista.com)
(Note the age of the adults is NOT needed, so you can just put “adult” in the adult’s age box, below.
If you have any special needs or requirements, please enter this in the box for that individual)
Please also indicate whether you would like an adult space IN the workshop in the comment box at the end of the booking form.
Payment
You can pay via the website (the prices, below, have been increased to take into account PayPal fees) OR
You may send exact payment (per the above) directly to: events [ at] educationista.com
(please use family & friends or opt to pay the fees yourself)
**Please put your name and what you are paying for in the message**
(opt to pay offline, if sending payment directly)
