Science workshop for KS1/KS2 HEers on Sailing Science. Children should be aged 4 to 10yrs. 9:30am – 11am.
Build your own land yacht and investigate the materials and forces involved along the way. The staff will guide the kids through a 45 minute workshop, then allow free exploration of the science centre’s attractions for another 45 minutes.
There is only room for one adult per family group in the centre. Similarly, there is no room to accommodate younger siblings; however staff are accustomed to catering for school groups and well able to lead the children. There is a coffee shop nearby, so if someone else can oversee your workshop attendee for you, there is opportunity for you to enjoy a tea break!
Science workshop for KS3 HEers on Protein Science – You Are What You Eat. Children should be aged 10-13yrs. 11:30am – 1pm.
Play around with proteins! Experience the process of digestion from the point of view of a protein. Find out how the body makes what it needs… The staff will guide the kids through a 45 minute workshop, then allow free exploration the science centre’s attractions for another 45 minutes.
There is only room for one adult per family group in the centre, and no space to accommodate younger siblings. Staff are accustomed to catering for school groups and well able to lead the children, so please do feel able to leave your child in their care or that of a familiar adult.
There is parking just around the corner for a few pounds, or you can use the town’s Park & Ride facility.

You must include your child’s name, age, and what you are paying for on the PayPal payment or it may be returned.
If you opt to pay through the website when you book, you will need to pay £6.93 to cover the increased payment fees to do so.
If refunds of more than 50p per child become due, with spaces filling up, then I will process those at the time. Otherwise, I will use any excess to supply drinks or snacks at the event.
There are 25 spaces available, and these will be allocated on a first to pay basis. 20 spaces must be filled for the workshop to go ahead. In the unlikely event that it doesn’t fill, full refunds will be made. Refunds cannot be made for individual cancellations.
